WA 96pts. - 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Beau Vigne Vineyard in Napa Valley. Dave Phinny has hit another home run with this fantastic Cabernet. He makes Mercury Head, The Prisoner, and Beau Vigne amongst others. He is a rising star who was trained at Opus One and at Whitehall Lane. He has the background necessary to develop Beau Vigne s French Clone 337 into a big complex Cabernet. Dave was voted winemaker of the year by Dean and Deluca and is receiving a lot of attention for his winemaking. Dark, rich and seductive style layered with a pointed entry. Aromas of cedar, tobacco leaf and cr me de cassis. Centered with black cherry, blackberry, mocha and spice. The woven plush texture has a balance of fruit, acid and tannins that contribute to a long velvet finish. Full bodied and well endowed this cabernet sauvignon should age nicely for 10-12 years.
