Franciscan Cabernet Sauvignon is a quintessential Napa Valley Cab. The season provided the ideal combination of cool evenings and warm-cool days. Allowing a slow, even ripening that let tannins, sugars and flavors develop in unison. The result of this long hang time is a wine with supple tannins, complexity, intense flavors and excellent overall balance.Aroma has blackberry, plum, clove, coffee, and cassis with hints of toasty oak and sweet vanilla. Flavors of cassis, coffee and toasted oak add to this rich and mouth-filling cabernet. A lingering finish is the result of a well-structured body, full texture with ripe, refined tannins.Franciscan's output of legendary wines began with the its 1975 Cabernet Sauvignon, by Justin Meyer. This release established the Franciscan style based on making wine in small lots, then blending them together to achieve the greatest expression.
